Welcome, I'm really glad you're here

Travel has always been about more than checking destinations off a list.

For me, the best journeys begin long before the suitcase is packed. They start with a story. A book that sparks curiosity, a television series that makes a destination feel familiar, or a castle, village, or landscape that captures your imagination and refuses to let go.

That's what inspired Sarah B Travels and the philosophy behind Beyond the Arch. Travel has the power to take us beyond the familiar and into places we've only imagined, allowing us to step into the stories, landscapes, and experiences that inspire us.

I'm Sarah Byer, the travel advisor behind Sarah B Travels, and I help readers, dreamers, and curious travelers experience those places for themselves while making the planning process feel simple, organized, and stress-free.

Because the most memorable trips aren't just about where you go. They're about how a place makes you feel when you finally step into it for yourself.

Travel Designed For Readers, Dreamers, & Curious Explorers

Beyond the Arch is a more intentional approach to travel planning.

Instead of rushing from landmark to landmark, each journey is thoughtfully designed around the experiences, atmosphere, and moments that drew you there in the first place.

Because the most memorable trips aren't about seeing the most, they're about feeling connected to the places you're exploring.

A Few Chapters From My Story

Favorite Story World

If I could step into any fictional world, I'd be packing my bags for Hogwarts. Harry Potter has been my favorite series since I was a kid, and you'll usually find me recommending castles, cozy villages, and places that feel like they've been pulled from the pages of a book.

My Ideal Day While Traveling

Give me a historic castle, a charming bookshop, a cup of tea, and a cobblestone street to wander. I'm much more likely to be exploring hidden corners of a destination than rushing between attractions.

A Place That Feels Like Magic

Scotland has my heart. Between the castles, dramatic landscapes, folklore, and literary connections, it's one of the few places that feels exactly as magical in real life as it does in your imagination.

Why I Love Travel

Travel allows us to step into places we've only imagined. Whether it's a destination from a favorite book, a filming location from a beloved series, or a place you've dreamed about for years, there's something unforgettable about finally experiencing it for yourself.

Some of my favorite memories have been made exploring the world with my little family. Wandering castle grounds, discovering hidden corners of a city, and watching places we've only talked about suddenly come to life. Those shared moments are a reminder that travel isn't just about where you go. It's about the stories you create together along the way.

Current Book Obsessions

You'll usually find me with a fantasy or romantasy book in hand. Some of my favorites include Harry Potter, Throne of Glass, Fourth Wing, and Kingdom of the Wicked. If there's a castle, a dragon, a little magic, or an epic adventure involved, I'm probably adding it to my TBR.

A Few Things I Love

Tea over coffee, wildflowers, sunny days, dragons, bookstores, cozy villages, castle ruins, mountain views, and getting completely lost in a good story.

Basically, if it feels a little magical, a little whimsical, and a little like stepping into another world, I'm in.
